I created Habits and Rituals out of a desire to provide an integrative approach towards the treatment of stress related conditions. This space can be used to compliment medical treatment or to independently develop strategies that promote relaxation and sustained wellbeing. My professional practice is heavily influenced by a whole person approach, with an emphasis on the mind-body connection. In short, I teach clients how to relax- psychologically and physically. The techniques I use can be applied to delay the onset and progression of illness, reduce duration of disease and hasten recovery.

I have worked with and would recommend integrative approaches for the following conditions:
Traditionally, psychological wellbeing has been addressed through clinical models and pharmaceutical intervention. Mind-body medicine blends together a variety of techniques to address the area of concern holistically. It considers the physical, emotional and behavioural components of health.
My practice blends compassion with cutting-edge science, aimed at addressing conditions from anxiety and depression to autoimmune disorders. Whether you are a first responder, health professional, or navigating life’s pivotal changes, I am here to support you with tailored strategies for sustained wellbeing.
The techniques offered at Habits and Rituals are cost-effective, non-pharmaceutical and are based on current scientific research. What I provide is practical, tangible steps that you can implement immediately to alleviate discomfort and distress.
Please reach us at annie@habitsandrituals.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.
The short answer is no. Whilst I have training and experience working with counselling interventions, these consultations offer an integrative approach. In saying this, a large component of holistic support involves in-depth conversation and facilitated discussion.
I am certified in psychoneuroimmunology relaxation techniques more specifically Diaphragmatic Breathing and Guided Imagery.
No, you do not need any special equipment or tools for a consultation. It is recommended that you attend the online appointment in a private, comfortable space. This is to ensure confidentiality and that you have a safe environment to explore areas of concern with limited interruption.
Having worked in the field of mental health I often heard people say that they wanted practical strategies to help reduce discomfort. I developed Habits and Rituals, for individuals who want to be proactive and empowered by their own psychological and physical health journey.
At Habits and Rituals, I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. I am passionate about providing a safe space for everyone including Aboriginal and/or Torres Straight Islander people, individuals living with a disability and those in the LGBTQI+ community. I also work with clients who have a wide range of health and wellness goals, from chronic stress management, improved self esteem and wanting to optimise wellbeing.
I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to deeply understand their unique experience and needs. I have a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and four years of direct practice experience. I am certified in Psychoneuroimmunology Relaxation Techniques, from University of Sydney and have completed training in Personalised Integrative Therapy. Using a simple and down to earth approach, I work with my clients to break down the process of recovery step by step
Habits and Rituals acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands we live on. We pay our respects to all Elders, past and present, of all Aboriginal and Torres Stait Islander nations.
